Our History

Over five years in planning, our core group, consisting of six original board members, together having over forty plus years in the field of Christian education, saw the need to minister to the needs of the young and the elderly in the area known as the pass. Our goal was and is to work alongside existing ministries and provide a support and training for the community.

Remnant in the Pass is a Christian non-denominational ministry serving the body of Christ in the area known as the Pass, consisting of the cities of Calimesa-Yucaipa-Beaumont-Banning-Cherry Valley-and nearby neighborhoods.

With a background and expertise in Christian education, in 2013 we assembled and launched a self paced high school equivalency preparation program. We partnered with Mira Loma Christian Schools in Riverside County. The school has been able to provide the platform for students to re-enter and complete their High School Equivalency exams. The partnership has seen hundreds pass the State exam at a 79% passing rate.

In December 0f 2016, Remnant Ministries launched our first studies in the Plantation on the Lakes located in Calimesa, a community in the pass. The Plantation on the Lakes is a 55 and older senior community, where we to date co-host a bi monthly bible study.  Holding to our vision to work with and build up existing ministries, we partnered with established and organized groups in the development. Our partnership is now able to assist and plan strategy for meeting the needs of seniors physically and spiritually.

In 2016 we began meeting with church leaders and pastors in the pass where we met to pray and hear the needs of the church community as a whole. These leaders met with local city officials so we are on top of any current community needs. Through this alliance we have now aligned with a local church in Beaumont, Freedom Church, to anchor down our footprints within the pass.

Our vision is to train and equip individuals to become the teachers and leaders for the purpose of leading home bible studies, small groups and positions at the local church. Very close to our hearts is a connection with specialty ministries who work with both men and women of the at risk recovery areas, and offer bible studies and the opportunity to attend the bible institute, which was launched in the fall of 2017.
